  Cold Day

Misty clouds within our skies
Darkness beams across the streets
Our rain soaked clothes
Drip to match our hurried steps

Rushing through the streets
Shivering as you curse the rain
Your heart beats faster
The closer you get home

Throw the gate open in a frenzy
Don´t bother locking the gate, you´re nearly home
Mind the step as you go, quickly move to your door
Your pockets hold the key to the warmth

Slippy hands have you cursing
Cold hands have you got fumbling
Picking your keys up, you open the door
The heating goes on before the door is closed

You strip off your wet clothes
Throwing them in the wash
The kettle goes on in hurry As you shiver within your robe

The coffee is poured, your happy once again
The warmth of your home, sends the shivers to hell
Close the curtains on the rainy misery
You have survived another cold day
